Last Updated: March 15, 2025

At phylarenquos, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you interact with our financial education services.

We're committed to transparency about our data practices. If something isn't clear here, reach out and we'll explain it in plain English.

Like most websites, we collect technical information when you visit our site. This includes your IP address, browser type, device information, and how you navigate through our pages. We use this to understand which resources are most helpful and where we can improve.

About Cookies: We use cookies to remember your preferences and understand how you use our site. You can control cookie settings through your browser, though some features may not work as smoothly without them.

How We Use Your Information

We're not in the business of selling your data. Everything we collect serves a specific purpose related to delivering quality financial education.

Who We Share Information With

We work with a handful of trusted partners who help us run our education programs. Each has their own privacy obligations and only receives the minimum information needed to do their job.

  • Payment processors who handle secure transactions (they never see your full card details, and neither do we)
  • Cloud hosting providers that store course materials and platform data in Australian data centres
  • Email service providers who help us send course updates and educational content
  • Analytics tools that show us how people use our website (all anonymized)
  • Legal authorities if required by Australian law or to protect our legitimate interests

We don't sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. That's not how we operate.

Your Rights Under Australian Privacy Law

The Australian Privacy Principles give you specific rights over your personal information. Here's what that means in practice:

Access Your Data

Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you. We'll provide it within 30 days, though complex requests might take a bit longer.

Correct Inaccuracies

Ask us to fix any incorrect or outdated information. You can update most details through your account settings or by contacting us directly.

Request Deletion

Ask us to delete your information once you've completed your courses and we've met our legal record-keeping requirements.

Withdraw Consent

Opt out of marketing emails anytime. Just know that we'll still need to send essential course-related communications.

How to Exercise Your Rights: Send an email to support@phylarenquos.org with your request. We'll need to verify your identity first, then we'll process it promptly. If we can't fulfill your request for legal reasons, we'll explain why.

Data Security and Protection

We've implemented multiple layers of security to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. This includes encrypted connections, secure servers, and regular security audits.

Our Security Measures

  • SSL encryption for all data transmitted between your browser and our servers
  • Regular security updates and patches to our platform infrastructure
  • Restricted access to personal data - only employees who need it for their work can see it
  • Secure password requirements and two-factor authentication options for accounts
  • Regular backups stored in geographically separate Australian locations

Despite our best efforts, no online system is completely secure. We'll notify you promptly if we detect any breach that might affect your personal information.

Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your information only as long as necessary to provide our services and meet legal obligations. Different types of data have different retention periods.

Retention Periods

Account information and course progress remain active while you're enrolled and for two years after completion. This lets you return and review materials or pick up where you left off.

Financial records and enrollment documentation are kept for seven years to comply with Australian tax and business record requirements. After that, they're securely deleted.

Marketing communications data is retained until you unsubscribe, plus 90 days to ensure our systems fully process the removal.

Account Closure: When you request account deletion, we remove your personal information within 30 days, except for records we're legally required to keep. You'll receive confirmation once the deletion is complete.

International Data Transfers

Your data is primarily stored and processed in Australia. However, some of our service providers operate globally, which means your information might occasionally be processed outside Australia.

When we transfer data internationally, we ensure those providers meet equivalent privacy standards through contractual agreements and compliance certifications. We only work with partners who take data protection seriously.

Children's Privacy

Our financial education programs are designed for adults aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you're a parent and believe your child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll delete it immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We review and update this privacy policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email and post the updated version here with a new effective date.

Continuing to use our services after changes means you accept the updated policy. If you disagree with changes, you can close your account before they take effect.

Privacy Complaints

If you're concerned about how we've handled your personal information, please contact us first. We take complaints seriously and investigate thoroughly.

We aim to resolve privacy concerns within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
