Financial Clarity Starts Here
We've spent years helping Australian households and small enterprises untangle their finances. Not with fancy jargon or complicated software—just straightforward guidance that makes sense when you're sitting at your kitchen table on a Wednesday night.
Why We Started phylarenquos
Back in 2017, our founder Isla Bergstrom was working at a major bank and kept noticing the same pattern. People would come in stressed about money, get handed a pile of brochures, and leave more confused than when they arrived.
She thought there had to be a better way. Something that felt less like a sales pitch and more like talking to someone who actually gets it.
So we built phylarenquos around a simple idea: treat people's finances like they matter. Because they do. Whether you're trying to save for a house deposit or just want to stop feeling anxious about your credit card bill, you deserve someone who'll take the time to explain things properly.
- Honest conversations: We tell you what you need to hear, not what sounds impressive
- Realistic timelines: Financial change takes months, sometimes years—we're here for the whole journey
- No hidden fees: You'll know exactly what everything costs before we start

How We Got Here
Started in a Spare Room
Isla left the banking world and started taking on clients from her home office in Parramatta. Word spread through local community groups, and suddenly weekends were booked solid with consultations.
Opened Our First Office
Moved into a proper space in Wetherill Park after realizing the spare room situation wasn't sustainable. Hired our first full-time advisor, Magnus Lindqvist, who brought experience from community financial counseling.
Pandemic Pivot
Lockdowns forced us online faster than we'd planned. Turned out many clients preferred video calls anyway—they could chat with us without taking a day off work. We kept the office but made remote access permanent.
Expanded Our Team
Brought on three more advisors and developed our structured financial literacy program. We'd been helping people one-on-one for years, but wanted to create something more comprehensive for those ready to take a deeper look at their money habits.
Where We Are Now
Still in the same Wetherill Park office, still focused on straightforward financial advice. We've helped over a thousand people get clearer on their money situation, and we're planning our first series of in-person workshops for September 2025.

Our Approach to Financial Guidance
We're not going to pretend everyone's situation is the same. What works for a single parent juggling childcare costs won't necessarily help a couple trying to start a business.
That's why we spend our first session just listening. What keeps you up at night? What financial habits do you want to change? Where do you actually want to be in five years?
From there, we build a plan that fits your actual life. Sometimes that means aggressive saving. Sometimes it means consolidating debt first. And sometimes it means accepting that progress will be slow because life is expensive and unpredictable.
Personalized Planning
Every financial situation is different. We take time to understand your specific circumstances before making any recommendations.
Flexible Sessions
Meet with us weekly, monthly, or just when you need a check-in. You set the pace based on what's helpful for you.
Plain Language
We explain things in normal words. If something sounds confusing, we'll rephrase it until it makes sense.
Long-Term Support
Financial changes take time. We're still working with clients from 2018 because good money management is an ongoing practice.

Freya Kowalski
Senior Financial Advisor
"The best part of this job is watching someone go from feeling overwhelmed to actually confident about their finances. It doesn't happen overnight, but when it clicks—that's why I do this."
